| Turicibacter| Turicibacter Bosshard et al. 2002
Normal Gut Microbiota: Turicibacter is a genus of bacteria that has been found in the gastrointestinal tract of humans and other animals. It is considered a part of the normal gut microbiota, which plays a crucial role in various physiological functions, including digestion, metabolism, and immune system regulation.
Anaerobic Bacteria: Turicibacter species are generally anaerobic bacteria, meaning they thrive in environments with little to no oxygen. Anaerobic bacteria are common inhabitants of the gut microbiota.
Dietary Fiber Fermentation: Like many bacteria in the gut microbiota, Turicibacter species may be involved in the fermentation of dietary fibers. During fermentation, bacteria can produce short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which have been associated with various health benefits, including gut health and immune modulation.
Limited Information on Health Impacts: While the presence of Turicibacter in the gut is recognized, specific information about its impacts on human health, both positive and negative, is not well-documented. The broader understanding of the gut microbiota's influence on health is still an active area of research.
Microbial Interactions: Bacteria in the gut microbiota, including Turicibacter species, engage in complex interactions with each other and with the host. These interactions contribute to the overall balance and functionality of the microbiota.

Different labs use different software to read the sample. See this post for more details.
One lab may say you have none, another may say you have a lot! - This may be solely due to the software they are using to estimate.
We deem lab specific values using values from the KM method for each specific lab to be the most reliable.
